The Student Guidance and Advising Unit at female campus held a program entitled “Academic Advising from Islamic Perspective” on Tuesday.
Presented by Dr. Hayat Othman, the program introduced the concept of student advising, its ill-practices and goals.
Dr. Othman pointed out that social services is part and parcel of the educational process at the college.
Explaining about student advising from an Islamic perspective, Dr. Othman mentioned psychology as an example and how its applications are linked to Quran and Sunnah.
Before wrapping up the program with suggestions to improve advising, the presenter listed the types, benefits and principles and factors of providing student advising services.
