Quran And Sunna Approach to Thought Protection

The Intellectual Awareness Unit at the College held a lecture entitled "The Approach of the Qur'an and the Sunna in the Protection of Thought". The course was presented by Dr. Noura Al-Shehri on Wednesday 28/1/1439 H. at the Auditorium in the presence of all faculty members, administrators and students.Dr. Noura talked about protecting the mind from dogmatism and deviation and identifying the proper sources of knowledge from the Holy Quran, Sunnah and the understanding of the righteous Muslim early scholars, as their approach centered on building the mind, protecting thought and increasing trust in the Divine. She also stressed the importance of applying  reason and the pursuit of knowledge and to avoid fanaticism, ignorance and blind beliefs in destructive cults. “The Qur'an has developed an approach to mental education by encouraging the mind to contemplate of Allah’s creation throughout the human history,” Dr. Noura added. The lecture ended with the words of Ibn al-Qayyim (may God have mercy on him): "No one has ever disagreed with Allah’s revelations and sounded insane afterward” Prizes for the e-contest of (Quran and Sunnah Approach) were awarded at the end of the lecture.
