The Dean’s Office for Student Affairs, represented by the Student Advising Center, conducted in collaboration with the Academic Advising Unit a seminar entitled “ Social Media between necessity and addition”. Presented on Tuesday by Dr. Jamal Halawah, the seminar focused on introducing the concept of communication, citing some of social medial websites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. The advantages of using these websites were mentioned such as contacting family members and searching activity related to courses of study. On the other hand, Dr. Halawah highlighted the disadvantages that could result from using these websites. The seminar also addressed the issue of addiction to these websites, particularly among children and teenagers, and stressed the important role of family in raising up children.
