A seminar entitled “Scientific Research in Arab Universities” Under the supervision of the Quality and Development center in the College of Science and Humanities of Houtat Sudair , and as part of the activities of the training unit related to the college deanship of quality and development, Dr. Hadi Al monsar and Dr. Taher Al-Momani from the Mathematics Department have presented a seminar entitled the scientific research in Arab universities which dealt with the ranking of Arab Universities in terms of the academic and scientific levels, graduates, faculty, researches, academic performance , academic programs , recruitment methods, the percentage of students per teachers , quantitative and qualitative availability of facilities at the university, the amenities provided by the university towards the community , documents and records storage, functional administrative work, the use of websites , communication through the best methods of modern technology , and the university's reputation locally and internationally. In addition some of the problems of scientific research in Arab universities were mentioned like the limitations of university libraries which are specialized in following the vast amount of paper or electronic copies, the lack of enrollment in Arab and foreign, traditional and electronic courses, lack of funding, the faculty member’s objective of getting upgraded, The brain drain, the limitations of the research environment, and other problems. Then, some suggestions were presented including: developing a clear strategy for scientific research, creating units for scientific research in all colleges that are responsible for controlling and following-up the scientific research process, and preventing the emigration of National competencies by improving their situation and meeting their needs
