The Student Activity Unit headed by Mr. Hussien Batainah together with a number of students from different academic departments of the College of Science and Humanities in Hawtet Sedair made a visit to the Central Library in Majmaah on Thursday 05/03/2015. The tour started by showing the students the contents of the library, such as the valuable books, records, series of newspapers, magazines and periodicals. In addition, the students were introduced to the the mechanism of the computer-based search of the books in the library for easier and faster research. Then, the librarian explained the process of electronic borrowing system that enables students to borrow digital books through a special device without referring to the librarian. The visit had several goals, including the following: 1. encouraging the self-study on the part of adults and children, and enabling the students and researchers to access the books and references relevant to their studies and research topics. 2. educating the students and familiarizing them with different cultures by urging them to be well aware of the ongoing developments in the various fields of knowledge. 3. working on creating good citizens who can help themselves and their community, and providing the students with the books that can enhance their skills and improve their careers. At the end of the visit, the students expressed their admiration of the library, the contents and the easy access to all the desirable available books
