The Student Support Unit, in coordination with the Training and Public Relations Unit at the College, held a training course for students entitled "Self-Esteem" on Tuesday, 14/07/1438 in Hall (232). Dr. Jalal Al-Siddiq, who presented the session, talked about the concept of self-worth, which is an assessment that individuals have for themselves, stressing the importance of it as the gateway to all other types of desirable achievements. He also explained that self-respect is not a biological quality, but rather an acquired characteristic that is acquired with experience and personal reflection on life events. Furthermore, he distinguished between self-esteem and self-confidence, as the latter being a result of the former. The course also dealt with the prominent characteristics of people with high sense of self-esteem: 1 – Calm. 2 - Good manners. 3 – Enthusiastic and determined. 4 - Open and expressive. 5. Positive and optimistic. 6. Self-reliant. 7. Social and cooperative 8 – Serious and decisive. At the end of the session, students' questions were answered.
