In coordination with the Department of Islamic Studies, the Student Activities Unit held on Wednesday, 08/01/1437 AH a seminar titled "Virtues of Ashura Day", in the Ceremonies Hall. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Ziad Al Amer and Dr. Adel Al Olayan, who both emphasized the importance of performing acts of obedience and worship during all days of the year and especially in some blessed seasons and occasions. Moreover, they stated evidences that confirm the virtues of the month of Muharram and especially the day of Ashura in the Sunnah. After that, they explained the importance of Ashura day for monotheists and its importance for Muslims today since Hadith confirm that fasting and worshiping on this day yields numerous earns, which provide us with the opportunity to win the favor of Allah the Almighty. Dr. Al Amer and Dr. Al Olayan clarified then some behavioral provisions and creeds to be followed in this blessed day. At the end of the session, some questions and comments were raised and discussed.
