In the presence of the dean of the College of Science and Humanities, Dr. Tariq Al-Bahlal, vice-deans and faculty members, the Vice-Dean’s Office for Student Affairs held on Tuesday a welcoming reception for new students on the occasion of new academic year 1441 AH. The reception was launched by a recitation of the Holy Quran for the students, Mohammed Alkharaif followed by a speech delivered by the dean who highlighted the distinction between high-school and university and encouraged students to work hard from beginning of the semester to get high GPA. Students should be aware of their rights and duties and to demonstrate ethical behavior, stressing the necessity of establishing good communication with faculty members. The Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahad Al-Sherary, explained to students the importance of consulting their academic advisors to have their problems solved as well as to get the proper advice. Dr. Al-Sherary talked briefly about the student regulations and the units associated with the vice-dean’s office along with the services provided by each unit, encouraging students to participate in the programs offered by the vice-dean’s office. Dr. Sa’ad Al-Othaimin, Dean of Quality and Development, spoke briefly about the vice-dean’s office and its concern to create an environment for students that is conducive to excellence, calling on all students to take part in the courses offered by the vice-dean’s office. The Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research talked about the courses offered for students in the field of research.
