In collaboration with the Alumni Unit, the Vice-Dean’s Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research held on Tuesday a workshop entitled ‘Scientific Research’. The workshop was divided into two parts: Part one titled “ Academic Research Skills for Students” presented by Miss. Sultana Al-Henein; Part two entitled : “ How to use Mendelely for Reference Management” presented by Miss. Fatima Amer. The main themes of the workshop are : 1. How to select a title for scientific research. 2. How to write a proposal in academic method. 3. The importance of writing the objectives, problems and methodology of scientific research 4. How to format a research paper with all sections 5. The necessary skills for using different types of sources including books, journals, scientific websites as well as scientific research engine such as google scholar. 6. Academic skill to carry out a research starting from abstract and introduction and all the way to conclusion 7. How to paraphrase any particular piece of information? 8. The scientific method of writing down references using software such as ‘Endnote’. 9. Revising the research content with the help of the course instructor using ‘Turnitin’ for highlighting citation percentage.
