The Rector Visits Rumaah College of Science and Humanities

The Rector of the University, Dr. Khalid Bin Saad Al-Muqrin, accompanied by the Vice Rector, Dr. Musallam Bin MohammAd Al-Dosari, and the Dean of College, Dr. Bandar Al-Yahya,has paid a visit to Rumaah College of Science and Humanities. Upon his arrival, he went to the urgent building project of the College, where he listened to a detailed explanation about the current stage of the project and the remaining stages for completion. Then, he took a brief tour around the facilities of the project and was pleased with the latest developments and achievements, he also urged everyone to exert more effort to get the job done as soon as possible. Afterwards, he headed to Rumaah College of Science and Humanities’ premises, where he was greeted by the Dean of the College, Dr. Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Yahya, as well as the College vice deans, and heads of departments and units. Next, the Rector held the periodic consultative meeting with the University vice rectors, deans and directors of departments at the College premises, After which he went with his accompanying delegation to the closing ceremony of the students’ meeting events held at the College, which included several events, and was attended by the Rector, the Governor of Rumaah province, Mr. Fahd Bin Abdullah Al Masood, the Vice Rector, Dr. Musallam Bin Mohammad Al-Dossari, the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, and the Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Bin Ali Romaih, as well as the deans of University colleges and deanships, and heads of government departments in Rumaah province. The ceremony was inaugurated with recitations from the Glorious Quran, followed by a speech for the Dean of the College of Science and Humanities in Rumaah, Dr. Bandar Al-Yahya, in which he welcomed the Rector as well as the rest of the attendees. Then, Dr. Al-Yahya stated that this event comes as an extension and culmination of the University’s multiple activities in the various colleges in a number of provinces, which aim to achieve a number of objectives, notably developing the students’ personality, familiarize them with their duties and obligations, encouraging them make effective contributions for the good public, equipping them with teamwork skills through cooperation, benefiting from others’ skills and experiences, promoting sharing and partnership to achieve the desired objectives, as well as consolidating the society’s values and principles,Increasing the community awareness of social services and development. On his closing, he thanked the Rector for continuous support and potentials which constituted the College achievements. He also thanked the staff and faculty members for hard efforts and sustainable progress to develop the College. Afterwards, a documentary about the establishment of The Science and Humanities College in Rumaah was presented, showing the urgent need of it in the area and the organizational structure of different departments and branches. The Rector delivered a  speech welcoming The University staff and faculty, the College Dean and affiliates, the governor and directors of governmental offices in Rumaah. He expressed his pleasure to participate in this event and witness the great development throughout the year. He confirmed on the role of University to provide the highest levels of quality education in order to prepare the students for the job market. He reminded the attendants that this University has started 5 years ago with only 6000 students in 7 Colleges of 5 districts, and now it is constituted of 22000 students and 12 Colleges. He added that such development is a result of the governmental support and the efforts of academics and staff as well as the increase of the University budget, which was only 300 million SR and now exceeds a billion SR. He also praised the support of the Governor and directors of Governmetal Offices in Rummah for providing a continuous support.The Rector thanked all governmental institutions, which support the Faculty in developing its contributions in the society. At the end of his speech, the Rector recommended all workers to fulfill their duties in the best manner, to deal with male and female students in a nice way and to facilitate their affairs. After that, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Science and Humanities in Ramah and Al-Rajhi Bank to develop training sessions between the two parties. Then, the Rector of the University launched an electronic application for smart devices of the Faculty, which serves both male and female students and staff, fulfill all their needs, in the academic field either to students or administrative staff. At the end of the ceremony, the Rector of the University honored the Faculty members, including Faculty vice-Rectors, Administrators and Students, who won in the Faculty competitions. After that, the Rector of the University opened the attached exhibition. The Rector also visited the mobile medical services and the mobile training vehicles, then all attendees had their lunch break, which was especially prepared for this occasion.
