At the request of MU's rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, and under the patronage of the vice-dean for Educational Affairs, Prof. Muhammad Al-Aboudi, and the follow-up of Dr. Shadi Al-Shuwayer, the CEO of the College, the Applied College held an introductory meeting for students in the presence of the vice dean of Admissions and Registration, heads of departments and faculty members.
The meeting kicked off with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Al-Shuwayer, who welcomed students and explained to them the necessary skills they need to master to compete in the labor market.
He pointed out that the college had formed many partnerships and agreements with various sectors and institutions to meet the growing demand of the labor market.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Arifi - the executive vice president - advised students to adhere to the rules and regulations, highlighting the role of the academic advising unit and the tasks of the academic advisor. He motivated students to utilize the learning resources such as the Blackboard platform.
The Vice-Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Saleh Al-Harithi, explained several academic points that students need such as how to add/drop courses, deferment and withdrawal.
Dr. Omar Al-Khanayni - Head of the English Language Unit - spoke about the importance of English language courses for students of various programs in the college.
Dr. Nayef Al-Shammari concluded the event by explaining the professional certificates.
