The Applied College at Majmaah University held a meeting with CIFAL Center - the first and only center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia accredited by the United Nations. This meeting aims to enhance influential partnerships that serve the goals of sustainable development.
The meeting was chaired by the CEO of the Applied College, Dr. Shadi Al-Shuwayer, in the presence of the Deputy CEO, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Arifi, the Assistant CEO and Head of the Partnerships Unit, Dr. Abdullah Al-Saadoun, and the Head of the Engineering and Technical Programs Unit, Head of the Student Affairs Unit at the college, Dr. Abdullah Al-Saleh.
The CIFAL Center was represented by the Director, Dr. Ayman Al-Barakati, and Mr. Suleiman Al-Samhan. Many topics and initiatives were discussed that aim to expand the scope of cooperation with the Center in a way that contributes to improving the quality of academic programs and qualify students to join the labor market through realistic projects that address sustainability issues.
The common areas that can be worked on were also discussed such as hands-on training programs for students and workshops on the concepts of sustainability and innovation. It also focuses on conducting joint applied research on economic, environmental and social development.
Dr. Al-Shuwayer focused on the importance of this cooperation, which will contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
