The Applied College activates the World Infection Control Week

The Applied College, Majmaah Branch, organized several events on the World Infection Control Week to raise students and employees awareness of the importance of preventing infectious diseases and spreading knowledge about infection control. 

The events, which will be held during the first week of November, and include multiple awareness activities, such as lectures, interactive workshops and exhibition.


The events was attended by the Executive Director, Dr. Salma Al-Osaimi, and the Supervisor of Student Activities at the branch, Ms. Lubna Al-Hassan. An awareness lecture were presented by public health specialists to focus on the role of personal hygiene and the importance of following sound health practices to reduce the spread of infectious diseases.


The lecture also highlighted the methods of transmission of infection and the importance of washing hands properly, as one of the effective means of preventing infectious diseases.
The importance of vaccinations and personal protection methods was also explained, and how these simple measures can contribute to reducing the risk of infection within the community.


The college also allocated awareness corners to display informational posters and sterilization tools, in addition to distributing brochures containing clear instructions on the basic steps for prevention, such as washing hands, covering the mouth when coughing, and following social distancing when necessary.

Practical workshops were held to teach students how to use disinfectants properly and wear masks in a safe manner.

The administration of the Applied College was keen to encourage students to transfer knowledge to their families and community, to be ambassadors for health awareness.
