The Student Affairs Unit at the Applied College branch in Zulfi organized an educational student visit to the Dakkah Dates Factory in Ghat Governorate. The students had a unique opportunity to explore the world of date production, one of the most prominent economic sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the varieties of high quality dates produced by the factory to meet the demands of both local and international markets. They also learned about the various stages of date processing, starting from sorting operations aimed at selecting the highest-quality dates, moving through modern packaging and wrapping mechanisms, and finally with export processes that highlight the vital role of this industry.

This experience allowed the students to learn about advanced technologies used in the date sector, as well as gain a deeper understanding of food supply chains and the importance of applying quality standards in production.

The students expressed their delight with this experience, which not only provided educational value but also broadened their perspectives on a key national sector. This reinforced their awareness of the importance of supporting local products and contributing to their future development.
