A Workshop on ‘Crisis Management Skills’

The Vice-Dean’s Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at female campus held a workshop for faculty members and staff, entitled ‘Crisis Management Skills’.

The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Hayat al-Attayah on Monday, addressed the following topics:

1. What is a crisis?
2. Concepts related to crisis management
3. When can you say that you have a crisis?
4. Characteristics necessary for the person who can solve or manage a crisis
5. Scientific method of solving or managing a crisis
6. Experience and expertise of managing exam crisis

The workshop also addressed the difficulties faced prior exams (e.g. writing questions, printing papers) and during exams (e.g. absence of invigilators, being late in receiving or handing exam papers, students violations such as cheating).  

The workshop was wrapped up by highlighting the scientific way of solving or managing crisis coupled with hands-on experience.
