The Deanship of E-learning and Distance Learning Starts the First Stages of the Electronic Tests Project

This morning the first stages of the Electronic Tests Project started; supervised and produced by the Deanship of e-learning and distance learning. It was held at the College of Computer and Information Sciences by experts specialised in the creating and developing electronic tests  from Pearson Vue Company (USA), it was attended by HE the Vice Rector and Dean do e-learning and distance learning Dr. Musallam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari, HE the Dean of Computer and Information Sciences College Dr. Hisham bin Mohamed Al-Saqeer, and Dr. Omar Bin Salem Al-Saeedi and Vice Dean of e-learning and distance learning for technical affairs and selected members of Computer and Information Sciences college. At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Vice Rector welcomed Dr. Stefan Bondorowicz and Dr. Neil Wilkinson, and acknowledged the  efforts made by those in charge of the project. During the meeting, the phases of the project were presented, its objectives and the role required of experts in the implementation phases of the project to reach the stage of establishing a centre for creating of electronic tests and measurement of learning outcomes using the system developed by the company. The experts presented the services that will be offered in partnership with the Deanship of e-learning and distance learning and the College of Computer and Information Sciences in preparation for the transfer of experience to various the university colleges. Then, at the College of Computer and Information Sciences the academic programs, courses, matrices of measuring learning outcomes and tests forms were reviewed, in order to develop a methodology for the development of electronic tests and the use of ExamDeveloper system which is one of the most popular and powerful systems for the development of item banks the test.  Discussions lasted until four o'clock, and reviewing academic programs and courses will be completed tomorrow. It is worth mentioning that the Deanship of e-learning and distance learning has Meade a service contract with Pearson Vue to develop electronic tests to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of the measurement of learning outcomes and the establishment of a centre for the development and creating tests serves all university colleges.
