Within the project of safety application system in the laboratories of the colleges of science and applied sciences, an 18-hour training course has started for the first group of faculty members and laboratory technicians. Held in collaboration with the German company TUV SUD and under the auspices of Vice-rector Dr. Musallam Al-Dousari, the course centered on the essential elements of safety and occupational health in addition to the roles and tasks of all workers in the college laboratories. Dr. Dousari pointed that through such a system, the university is committed to providing all the components of success in order to keep the safety of its employees. Without employees’ commitment to that system and its application on campus, some goals might not be achieved. Furthermore, the vice dean explained that the university staff commitment to the safety system would be regarded as role models by students. Thus, students would be encouraged to apply that system inside and outside university. Therefore, our commitment towards this work is a religious and national duty which achieves some of the university roles towards the community.
