In the presence of vice-rectors and the university employees, MU rector, Dr. Khalid al-Muqren, participated in the afforestation campaign at main campus in Majmaah.
To show the importance of this initiative and encourage others to follow suit, MU rector planted a seedling, commending the efforts of volunteers in this initiative.
The campaign was launched at the request of MU rector and within the framework of the university’s pursuit to comply with the National Transformation Program initiatives to meet the goals of the Kingdom vision 2030.
The 2-week campaign aims to introduce trees and tree seedlings to areas that have previously not been forested as a way to reduce visual pollution and improve the general look of the university.
Many of the university units are taking part in the campaign along with the Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture, Majmaah Municipality and Green Majmaah Association.
The door is open for volunteers who are interested in the initiative via the national portal for volunteers.
