The Department of Surgery at the College of Medicine of Majmaah University has successfully completed its participated in the GlobalSurg-CovidSurg Week.
Dr. Nasser al-Dharwi, main researcher, pointed out that this study is the biggest in the history of surgery with over 100000 patients during the second week.
The 4-week study aims to provide an answer to what are the determinants of surgical care outcomes for patients who had surgery during the epidemic period. This will help in formulating guiding standards to achieve better surgical care despite the challenges of the epidemic.
Dr. Musaed Rayzah, head of Department of Surgery at MU, extended his thanks to his colleagues for their unfailing commitment to make this participation successful, highlighting that taking part in such studies would open up new horizons in research.
Dr. Rayzah concluded his remarks by thanking the university administration for the unconditional support the team has received in this study.
