Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren, MU rector, patronized a signing ceremony of two Memorandums of Understating (MoU) between MU and the Quran Memorization Organizations in Majmaah and Zulfi. The ceremony was held in the presence of the vice-rectors, the dean of Deanship of Community Service and Continuous Education, Dr. Omar Al-Sharyofi, and the chairman of the board of directors of both organizations in Majmaah and Zulf.
The ceremony began by a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by a speech for the dean, Dr. Al-Sharyofi who pointed out that this MoU was signed at the request of MU rector back in 1438 AH to fulfill the university’s role of serving the community.
As a result of this agreement, two Quran memorization centers were launched at the dormitories of Majmaa and Zulfi, and over 250 students – male and female – have joined these center, 20 of whom have memorized the entire Quran.
Dr. Al-Sharyofi commended the directive of MU rector to extend these agreements for years to come, pledging meet the requirements of these centers to achieve their goals.
Addressing the audience, MU rector expressed his gratitude for attending this signing ceremony which contributes in giving special care and attention for Quran in line with the leaders of this country.
At the end of the ceremony, the MoU were signed by the dean of Community Service, Dr. Al-Sharyofi, and Shaikh Sulaiman Al-Dkhail and Shaikh Abdelrahman Al-Hamad.
