Following MU’s remarkable achievement of obtaining institutional accreditation, which is valid for 7 years, the university has successfully obtained an accreditation from NCAAA for many academic programs. The programs are: Physiotherapy and Health Rehabilitation, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Medicine and Dentistry. The result of two other programs, namely, Medical Devices and Technology and Computer Science and Information, are underway.
There is a plan to obtain program accreditation for new academic programs ( 6 undergraduate programs and 2 MA programs) which is part of the university’s plan to have its programs accredited.
The vice-dean for educational affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Obudi, pointed out that this accreditation is an evidence of the quality of these programs and their outcomes including learning process, research curriculum development, study plans, community service and student services.
Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Attram, the dean of College of Medicine, considered the university’s institutional and programs accreditation as a mean to identify areas of strengths and weakness to improve the quality of plans and outcomes for these programs.
The dean of College of Engineering, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahsh, said that academic accreditation is an effective tool to evaluate and improve the educational process, highlighting that obtaining the academic accreditation would increase the chances of any educational institution to gain the community members’ trust, recruit qualified faculty members and researchers and attract talented students.
Dr. Mazen Al-Ghatani, the dean of College of Applied Medical Science, extended his thanks MU rector and vice-rectors for their unconditional support to improve the educational outcomes at the college which resulted in obtaining the academic accreditation.
The dean of College of Medicine, Dr. Rasheed Baradah, attributed the achievement of the college to obtain the academic accreditation for the medicine and surgery program to the unlimited support of MU rector, Dr. Al-Muqren, and the supervision of the vice-rector for educational Affairs, Dr. Al-Obudi.
