As part of the university’s pursuit to improve the performance and standards of research written in Arabic language in humanities, the Vice-Rector’s Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research, held a virtual seminar on how to boost research written in Arabic in majors such as humanities.
The seminar began by a speech delivered by the vice-rector for graduate studies and scientific research, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih, who highlighted the university’s role in boosting the efficiency of research as well as its policies and standards to improve the quality of research written in Arabic.
Multiple topics were addressed related to enhancing the methodology of research in Arabic. The first topic - moderated by Dr. Hajed Al-Otaibi, vice-dean at College of Science and Humanities – focused on coming up with suggestions to teaching research methodology.
The second topic, presented by Dr. Tanaf Al-Otaibi, head of Arabic Language Department, addressed means of helping to select topics in research.
The last topics was presented by Dr. Maha Al-Khaltham, vice-dean of Community Service, and focused on proposing up-to-date methodology of evaluating research in line with the requirements of global publishing standards.
The seminar was wrapped up by Dr. Huda Al-Barrak who suggested updating research publishing guidelines to meet the international standards.
