The Intellectual Property Protection Unit at the Deanship of Library Affairs, held a workshop in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs and the participation of Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP).
The workshop entitled “Patent Registration for Students” was moderated by Mr. Tawfiq Al-Medeiheem, vice-dean for quality and development and supervisor of vice-rector’s office, who welcomed Eng. Ahmed Al-Asmari, examiner of first patent at SAIP.
The workshop was presented by Eng. Al-Asmari who after sketching the themes of the workshop addressed the basic concepts of innovation and how ideas can be turned into prototypes to ensure ideas are documented. The presenter also highlighted some suggestions to help students and staff in going about their patent registration procedures.
