MU, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs, signed a subscription contract in the Saudi Unified Catalog (SUC) with King Fahad National Library (KFNL). The contract was signed by Dr. Shadi Al-Shuwayer, the dean of Library Affairs, and Mr. Othman Al-Asmari, the director of Saudi Unified Catalog project.
The SUC manifests the efforts exerted by KFNL to build a database that includes information from all difference sources of information. The aim of signing the contract is to improve the quality of services provided by the central library and sub-libraries which, to keep pace with the latest technological developments, and to meet the increasing needs of faculty members, students and researchers.
The project is intended to create an integrated bibliographic database of all Saudi Arabian library catalogs of various kinds and sizes and enable researchers to access to information sources.
