Two teams of MU qualified for next phase in the Oxagon Hackathon which is organized by the Ministry of Education and will be held in Riyadh 6-8 October, 2022.
The aim of the hackathon, added Dr. Al-Omar, is to engage the best talents from Saudi universities, create opportunities for strategic and technical partnerships in the private sector, transform ideas and research into institutional projects and start-up companies, develop innovative and entrepreneurial skills for entrepreneurs and students in universities, and strive to develop the best research and innovative solutions for future industrial cities.
The projects submitted by the university seek to find innovative solutions to the challenges of energy and water. The first project was presented by Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Mutairi, Assistant Professor of Renewable Energy, College of Engineering, in the field of energy and offered an innovative model for the energy storage system for optimal operation of renewable energy networks.
The other project is an industrial innovation of pipe pressure testing instrument and was presented by a group of students from the College of Engineering, and they are: Muwayed Al-Suwaiket, Nasser Al-Dalbahi, Nawaf Al-Madlij, and Othman Al-Mazrou’.
