Within the framework of the university’s efforts to promote the positive concepts embedded in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and in respond to the local, regional and global development trends, MU will hold an international conference entitled: Universities and the Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Targets and Practices. The conference which will be held during the period January 22-23, 2024, is patronized by the Minister of Education, Youssef Al-Bunyyan.
Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, the vice-rector for development and investment and the chairman of the conference's supreme committee, pointed out that this conference aims to motivate other universities to engage seriously in achieving the SDGs, 2023.
The core objectives of this conference are to allow for in-depth dialogue on sustainable development and achieving its goals, highlighting the vital role played by universities in development with a particular focus on goals of sustainable development.
The conference is expected to address four topics that are selective to stimulate insightful discussions. The four topics are: the development and sustainability; the SDGs 2030 and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030; the role of universities in achieving the SDGs 2030 and the role of universities in accelerating the process of achieving the SDGs 2030.
All universities and experts in the field of development are welcomed to participate in the seminars, workshops and exhibition associated with the conference.
