Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, MU's rector, launched the second phase of the Green University Initiative, in conjunction with the Green Saudi Initiative. The initiative took place in the presence of vice-rectors, deans and directors.
This initiative is part of the National Transformation Program and aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. It also promotes the sustainable development goal of protecting the environment and natural resources and achieving the well-being of society by planting trees in white spaces to decorate the university's campus and reduce visual pollution. 15,000 seedlings are expected to be planted in roads and parking lots and the irrigation network will be installed.
Many of the university's units will participate in the initiative and volunteers are welcome to participate to raise their environmental awareness in the initiative.
The university's rector conducted a tour of inspection to the walkway in the campus in Majmaah which was recently implemented by the General Administration of Projects, Operation and Maintenance following the highest standards.
