MU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE UNITED NATION CONVENTION TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION (COP16)

The CIFAL Center at Majmaah University (MU) is ready to take part in the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP 16), which will be held in Riyadh from December 2 to 13, 2024. The global event is held for the first time in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

This convention is an opportunity to showcase MU's efforts and achievements in the field of combating desertification and maintaining environmental sustainability. CIFAL Center's contribution in the associated exhibition will include a pavilion that highlights the university's pioneering projects, including research that aim to create innovative solutions to environmental challenges as well as the awareness programs that educate the public about the importance of protecting the environment and achieving sustainable development goals.

Dr. Ayman Al-Barakati, the Director of CIFAL Center, pointed out that MU is committed to combat desertification in line with the national and international trends, noting describing the conference as a vital platform for exchanging experiences with international institutions and highlighting the university's role in achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The Kingdom's hosting of this historic event reflects its leading global role in the field of environment and sustainability.

MU's pavilion is expected to receive a large number of visitors who will be introduced to the university's initiatives, partnerships and research projects in combating the global environmental challenges.
