MU has successfully obtained the full institutional accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, represented by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation. This accreditation was granted to MU after fulfilling all the requirements of the full institutional accreditation standards.
This success came as a result of a comprehensive action plan developed by the university including several visits by a team of experts in quality to the university's colleges, deanships and units. The team checked the supporting documents and conducted multiple field visits to assess the university’s infrastructure. Several interviews were also held with leaders, deans and vice deans, head of departments, faculty members, admin staff, and students.
The evaluation team examined all procedures, programs and facilities. Before the actual visits, preliminary visits were conducted under the supervision the NCAAA to ensure that the university's institutional and academic plans and policies are in place,
This accreditation is deemed important as it indicates that the university has fulfilled all the required standards to improve the quality of its outcomes to meet the demand of the labor market. This will enhance its reputation among students, parents, local and international bodies, and other stakeholders. The Institutional academic accreditation helps in improving the quality of all academic, administrative, and technical activities of the university.
MU Rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, pointed out the university deserved this achievement after fulfilling all the standards and requirements of the accreditation and quality metrics. He commended the efforts of the university's staff in achieving this milestones, particularly the the Deanship of Development and Quality, which managed to implement the highest standards of performance to attain full institutional accreditation.
