MU LAUNCHES THE LEAP-FAST PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNITAR AND UNESCO.

On Thursday the LEAP-FAST International Program was officially launched. The program was organized by CIFAL Saudi Arabia at MU in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and UNESCO. A group of academics and higher education leaders from various countries around the world participated in this program.

MU Rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mezal, welcomed the participants in his opening remarks and said that the university's organization of this program reflects its pioneering role in supporting the development of higher education and promoting sustainability practices within academic institutions.

Universities today bear a significant responsibility in qualifying individuals to address environmental, economic, and social challenges. This program presents a strategic opportunity to exchange experiences and develop innovative, applicable solutions for higher education institutions.

The LEAP-FAST Program is an exceptional initiative that aims to drive transformative change in higher education by integrating the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into academic programs and institutional structures to build a sustainable academic ecosystem that supports innovation and excellence.

The 3-month program features five intensive training modules that combine self-paced learning, virtual workshops, professional mentoring, and in-person sessions. A key highlight will be the in-person workshop to be held at Majmaah University on April 17.

The program targets academics and higher education leaders to develop their leadership and teaching skills, strengthen their capacity to lead institutional transformation, integrate sustainability concepts into academic curricula, and contribute to building a global network of academic leaders committed to sustainable education.
