The Governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Bander Al-Saud patronized the graduation ceremony of the 9th batch for the academic year 1438-1439 at the auditorium of main campus. Governor of Majmaah Prince Abdelrahman bin Abdullah Al-Saud was also present along with MU rector. A number of governmental directors and students’ guardians also attended the ceremony. Following the graduation parade, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan, Dean of Students Affairs, delivered a welcoming speech for the patronize of this ceremony and 9th batch graduates. 3195 BA students and 380 diploma students have graduated this year from various disciplines. Dr. Al-Ofaisan who congratulated the graduate this achievement did not forgot to encourage them to pursue the path of success and to consider this stage in their life as a point of departure for knowledge creation and innovation as this nation is in dire need of their contributions for advancing the development towards better future. Thanks and appreciations should be extended to both parents and faculty staff for their unfailing commitment and patience which were the driving force behind this success. The student Nawaf Al-Subaye gave a speech on behalf of the graduates who expressed the graduates’ gratitude for this occasion and the patronage of Riyadh Governor for this event. A presentation was then made about the university prize for community service, a prize emanated from the realization of the university for its role in serving the community. The aim of the prize is to commend contributors in this field whether it is faculty staff or students, units of community service or local community institutions. A film was shown about the success of the university in earning the institutional academic accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) after all academic accreditation requirements were met. Although the establishment of the university is relatively new in comparison with other Saudi universities, this however has not stopped the university to pursue this dream and becomes a leading university in this field. A wide-range of benefits are dependent on this accreditation, some of which are the credibility that graduates will gain in the market as well as the higher chances of pursuing their high education studies. Addressing the audience, MU rector, Dr. Al-Mugren also gave a welcoming speech on this occasion in which he attributed the achievements of MU to the exceptional support of King Salman to the education sector, a vision stated clearly by the government as the driving force for the development of this nation. The ceremony was concluded by awarding graduates with certificates followed by a press conference in which Prince Faisal congratulated all graduates and encourage the Saudi universities to follow suit in all fields.
