Workshop Title: Learning Disabilities: Evaluation and Remedy Location: Learning Hall. Day and date: Sunday, 25\6\1437 AH. Target group: Students. Objectives: First: Defining the concept of learning disabilities. Second: Introducing the types of learning disabilities. Third: Examining the differences between the developmental and academic learning disabilities. Forth: The indicators of learning disabilities in children. Fifth: The Importance of diagnosis in the case of learning disabilities. Sixth: The procedures of assessment and diagnosing learning disabilities case. Seventh: The required assessment aspects of diagnosing learning disabilities case. Eighth: The major obstacles in diagnosing learning disabilities case. Ninth: The methods and tools of diagnosing learning disabilities case. The Unit of Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Zulfi Education College held a workshop entitled (Learning Disabilities: Evaluation and Remedy) on Sunday, 25\6\1437 AH. at 11 a.m. in the Learning Hall. Dr. Hamzah Aiasrah, an assistant professor in special education at the education department, presented the workshop in presence of many students. The workshop covered many aspects including: defining the concept of learning disabilities, its types and the differences between the developmental and academic learning disabilities. The speaker also discussed the indicators of learning disabilities in children and the importance of diagnosis in the case of learning disabilities. Dr. Aiasrah clarified how to diagnose and assess the case of learning disabilities, the required assessment aspects and some major obstacles encountered in diagnosis. Finally, the workshop covered the methods and tools of diagnosing learning disabilities case. The workshop ended up successfully, and the students showed good reactions and accrued great benefits.
