The Department of Educational Science at the College of Education in Majmaah held a program to prepare field training students (student-lecturer).
Launched by the Dean, Dr. Majed Aba-Hussein, the program included several guiding words encouraging students to develop their skills, engage in study environment and gain experience from lecturers.
Mr. Abdelrahman Al-Mutairi, Educational Supervisor at Department of Education, talked about the aspects that both student and lecturer should take into consideration during field training. He said that preparing lessons well before class is important. He also encouraged teachers to make use of the excellent content provided by iEN Educational Channel.
Prof. Ibrahim Al-Zua’aber, Supervisor of Field Education Unit, highlighted the rules and regulations of field training including the minimum days and hours teachers should teach at the school as well as the importance of constant consultation of the supervisor.
Sharing their experience to students, Prof. Mahmoud Jaber and Dr. Aqil Al-Aqil, said that teachers should not follow only one methodology of teaching. Teaching should incorporates active cooperative learning, projects and other strategies that help in making the learning process professional. The outcomes of each lesson should be measured.
