Under the patronage of the College of Engineering, Dr. Abdullah Al-Abdelkareem, a workshop was organized on Wednesday by the Vice-Dean’s Office for Quality and Development for quality coordinators of academic programs at the College.
The Dean Dr. Al-Abdelkareem talked about the importance of earning the national academic accreditation, an achievement that requires concerted cooperation of all academic departments with the Vice-Dean’s Office for Quality and Development to carry out the quality works.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Muheisen, Vice-Dean for Quality and Development, underlined the significance of the executive plan as an accredited frame of reference for all academic departments in the field of quality which also help in unifying the efforts of academic departments in respect to mutual works.
The new standards of the National Center for Assessment and Academic Accreditation (NCAAA) were also discussed in the workshop along with explaining the executive plan for qualifying program to earn the national accreditation.
In a presentation given by Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Qawasmi, Supervisor of the Academic Accreditation Unit at the Engineering College, he provide an account of the NCAAA’s vision, new standards of academic accreditation and the requirements of academic accreditation for all academic programs both at the college and university levels. All the primary and secondary standards of academic accreditation were also explicated with an explanation of how meet the requirements of every standard.
The workshop was concluded by highlighting the most important tasks and standards related to academic accreditation in the executive plan and how they can be achieved via special committees formed for that purpose.
