Meeting with New Students

The Department of Mathematics held a meeting with new students on Monday 17/12/1437 at 8 a.m. in the 20-2 Hall in the presence of the Head of the Department and the faculty members. The meeting began with an introductory speech by the Department supervisor and members. Then the new faculty members were introduced to the classrooms as well as the department. The academic plan, credit hours and authorized specifications have been outlined to the new staff in addition to the former and subsequent requirements of each syllabus. Students were also shown the significance of the Office and counseling hours, making it clear that they should take advantage of those hours during their study at the College. Further, the problems pertaining to the schedules were solved. The point of course selection was also pointed out to students. The meeting aimed at the following: 1- Preparing the fresh students for the university life on both the academic and psychological levels. 2- Introducing the students to the various E-Systems. 3- Identifying the students’ problems and solving them. 4- Facilitating students’ academic start (printing schedules- knowing classrooms- completion of registration in the counseling records- exploring scientific departments, committees and units.) 5- Introducing the students to the (academic assessment- study policy- exams of the University- disciplinary regulations- FAQ)
