Based on the directive of the Dean, Dr. Omar Al-Omar and within the framework of the 5th Knowledge Development Program held at the College of Science and Humanities in Ghat, a training course entitled “ Appropriate Cost and Decision-Making” was conducted on Tuesday at the college.
Presented by Dr. Taj Al-Deen Fayruz Ahmed, Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting, the course targeted all public employees in Ghat.
The course addressed two major themes:
First Theme: Decision-Making
1- The concept of administrative decision-making
2- Importance of administrative decision-making
3- Elements of a decision
4- Steps of decision-making
5- Types of decisions
6- Patterns of decisions
7- Difficulties of decision-making
8- Strategies of appropriate decision-making
Second Theme: Appropriate Cost
1. The concept of Appropriate Cost
2. Definition of Appropriate Cost
3. Why to choose Appropriate Cost?
4. Steps of determining Appropriate Cost
5. Important decisions that determined the use of cost accounting:
a. purchasing or producing
b. Product mix
c. Replacement of equipment
d. Pricing and services of products
e. Accept and reject order
f. Add or delete unprofitable product line
g. Determine the economic size of the quantity
Participants commended the outcomes of the course in developing their efficiency and skills.
