The College of Engineering held specialized discussion sessions entitled "Entrepreneurship Opportunities in the Energy Sector" with a group of faculty members in the presence of a number of college students. This activity is part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week.
A number of topics in the field of energy storage, renewable energy and electric cars were discussed. A wide-range of engineering ideas and solutions were presented to address some problems related to the energy sector. Entrepreneurship opportunities in the Saudi labor market for engineers were discussed including engineering innovations and graduation projects which could be transformed into products of economic value and achieving the goals of sustainable development and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in the field of industry and innovation.
The sessions also dealt with discussing student ideas on a number of engineering topics in the energy sector. Many entities in the public and private sectors that provide support for pioneering projects were mentioned.
