The Knowledge Resources Unit conducted a training for students in cooperation with the Computer and Information Department entitled "Self-learning platforms". The course was presented by Dr. Sarah Al-Jak and addressed the meaning of self-learning as the process of individuals having to educate themselves and achieve their goals without direct assistance from the instructor.
She also explained the characteristics of self-learning such as the learner's abilities. Self-learning helps learners to develop their skills without having to rely on instructors. There are many methods and strategies for self-learning, including programmed education, technological education, learning by discovery and investigation, education in small groups, learning by drama and acting, field education, education by self-projects. The learn has the freedom to learn at any time without being bound by a specific schedule.
