The College of Computer and Information Sciences organized the second technical information security camp in cooperation with the EC Council, the leading international organization in the field of information security and cyber-crimes, and the sponsorship of the King Salman Institute for Studies and Advisory Services and the Deanship of Student Affairs at Majmaah University. The 30 participating college students started the camp on Wednesday 26 December 2018 and would accomplish the event on 5 January 2019. The camp will help qualify the students of the College in the departments of information technology and computer science to obtain professional certification in the field of information security.
The Importance of the Camp for College Students
The camp aims at qualifying the college students in the Computer Science and Information Technology Departments, expected to graduate this year, to obtain the Certified Ethical Hackers (CEH) and the Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI) which are among the most important professional certificates in Information Security. This initiative comes in response to the urgent need to qualify national cadres to cater for the needs of the labor market. The camp focuses on enriching the practical aspect with a large number of applications, tools and practical exercises. The camp helps the participating students through intensive practical training and professional testing, in order to qualify them to suit the requirements of the local and international labor market.
