His Excellency the Rector to Launch the National Campaign for Blood Donation
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Khalid S. Al-Mugren and the presence of His Excellency the director of King Khalid Hospital, Mr. Mohammad S. Al-Masnad and a number of vice-rectors and deans, the national campaign for blood donation was launched under the title “ Your blood donation will save others’ life”. The dean of college of medicine, Dr. Khalid Al-Abdelwahhab addressed the audience where he made a reference to the services provided to the community which is crucial for the medical service. Among these places are the pilgrim’s cities in Majmaah, the National Festival for Heritage and Culture in Janadriya, the 4th international conference of higher education, King Abdul Aziz award festival in addition to visits made to villages. He stated that more than 24,000 patients have benefited from the medical services. With regard to the cooperation with King Khalid Hospital, Dr. Abdelwahhab noted that a number of six campaigns were launch for blood donation, however, this time is different as it was launched outside the university and prior Ramadan in which there is a lack of blood banks and summer vacation where a lot of car accidents occurred Addressing the audience, the Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren gave a speech where he valued the efforts exerted by the medical services and expressed his appreciations for this work. Dr. Al-Abdelwahhab extended his thanks to King Khalid Hospital for their cooperation which is a promising indicator that the services of shall meet the expectation of the society. Appreciations were also extended to all staff of the medical service department; on top of them is the director of the department, Dr. Fahad Al-Feheid for his unfailing commitments. Dr. Al-Abdelwahhab concluded his speech by thanking the Rector for his constant support and guidance which resulted in the success of the medical service department. – His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Khalid S. Al-Mugren delivered a speech in which he appreciated the cooperation between the university and King Khalid Hospital and regarded it as a humanistic work that is a source of proud for the university. The Rector extended his thanks to the dean of medical college, Dr. Khalid Al-Abdelwahhab and Dr. Fahad Al-Feheid as well as King Khalid Hospital. All sectors that participated in the campaign were awarded including the department of public relation, the blood bank team at the hospital and the medical services team. A memorial shield was presented by Mr. Mohammad Bin Saleh Al-Masned, the director of King Khalid Hospital to His Excellency the Rector on this occasion. Eventually, the Rector signed on the t-shirts of the campaign to mark the beginning of the campaign. It is worth noting that the team has also worked in the parking yard of Red-Tag Mall on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The number of donators reached 96.
