Medical Services Website Achieves 3rd Place in University Rector’s Award for Departments
Under the auspices of His Excellency MU Rector, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al- Muqrin, the celebration of the third version of the “Rector’s Award for Outstanding Sub-sites and Faculty Members’ and Employees’ Websites” was held for the academic year 1435/1436 AH, in the main hall of MU main campus. The celebration was held in the presence of their Excellences the University vice rectors, deans, vice deans, as well as the departments directors. The celebration started with a speech by His Excellency the Chairman of the Committee of Rector’s Award for Outstanding Sub-sites and Faculty Members’ and Employees’ Websites, Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Rashoud, in which he welcomed the celebration sponsor and attendees. Moreover, he explained that this award was established in response to the directives and with the support of His Highness the University Rector about three years ago, who hoped that the award would be an incentive to the University female and male staff to encourage creativity and invention; he also said that the Committee had to achieve this vision and add extra efforts to achieve ambitions, adding that, to achieve this, the committee is keen to meet with the supervisors of the sub-portals of the University main website to listen to their ideas and suggestions, and answer their questions. Furthermore, His Excellency clarified that- to continue the committee works with the direct follow-up of the University Rector- a special website for the award in both Arabic and English was published, containing all the criteria of evaluation, and aiming to achieve justice and transparency among participants. Dr. Al Rashoud also stated that the number of visits to the award website has hit about 12, 000. Afterwards, an introductory film on the award and the portal content was presented. Then, Mr. Adel Hmeidan Al Shammari, the supervisor of the website of the College of Science and Human Studies in Al Ghat, delivered a speech on the behalf of the contestants, in which he extended thanks to His Excellency the University Rector for initiating such an award; he also thanked all the members of the Committee for their professional work and transparency in assessment. Then, Ms. Bayan Al Tayyar, a faculty member in the Faculty of Education in Zulfi, delivered a speech on the behalf of the female contestants, where she extended thanks to the University Rector and all the those members of the Committee. Next, His Excellency the University Rector gave a speech in which he welcomed the audience, and commended on the efforts of the members of the Committee, as their success was an extension to a previous success; His Excellency also commended on the interaction of the contestants, clarifying that the achievements of the University are the result of Allah’s guidance, then the faculty members’ efforts in the different positions and departments. At the end of the celebration, the winners of the award were honored. It is worth mentioning that the College of Medical Services took the third place in the Departments’ Award which was received by the Executive Director, Dr. Rayan Barakati; and Mr. Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Barghash, who is responsible for the website
