At the request of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren and the follow-up of the Vice-Rector, Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, the Severe Weather Unit at the Directorate of Services is resuming predicting climate change via risk management platform to take the necessary measures that ensure the safety of both students and staff in all colleges and facilities of the university.
The General Director, Mr. Moteb Al-Maymoni said that, in response to MU Rector’s directives, the unit is working during and outside working hours.
As a measure of safety, climate change indicators are monitored in all governorates located within the geographical span of the university, including all colleges in Majmaah, Zulfi, Ghat, Remah and Hawtat Sudair as well as all the centers covered by transportation services, added Mr. Al-Maymoni.
The work involves several platforms (i.e. risk, weather) and coordination with outside sectors such emergency center, civil defense, meteorology and the education departments.
The general director extended his thanks to MU Rector and the Vice-Rector for their follow-up and directives to ensure the safety of students.
