Within the framework of partnership of between MU and Riyadh Governorate, the Social Responsibility Observatory (SRO) at MU has participated in the initiative for deaf and hard hearing ‘Hear me out 2” patronized by Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and suprvized by Princess Tahani bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
The initiative – attended by a large number of individuals who are interested in deaf or hard hearing - was held to celebrate the Arab Deaf Week 44 under the theme: “ Public Bodies are compelled to hire deaf”.
The Center of People with Special Needs Service at SRO set up a booth to introduce visitors to the wide-range of services provided by MU to dead and hard hearing people. Some of the university deaf students have shared with visitors the services they received during their study at MU such as sign language, translation of curriculum and academic advising
Princess Tahani bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud who have visited MU’s booth has expressed her gratitude with the outstanding services offered to people with special needs and deaf in particular.
Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector and Head of SRO, said that MU is pleased to participate in such important event for deaf which manifest the University’s great concern to serve all segments of society.
He added “ Following the directives of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren, MU strives to create a friendly-environment for people with special needs”
Launching this initiative by Princess Tahani bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and the large number of visitors is an obvious indicators of the success of this event.
