Majmaah University’s Intellectual Awareness Unit (IAU) at MU Rector’s Office has organized a lecture titled “Influence of Social Media Networks on Students’ Intellectual Security” for the students’ college. Presented by Ms. Nawal Al-Musned, the lecture which was held in the auditorium of Zulfi College of Education, focused on how to utilize social media to protect students from deviant thoughts and the dangers of social media on intellectual security, on top of which is rumor. Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit, said “This is a part of a series of lectures scheduled by the IAU to spread awareness on the damages and hazards resulting from deviant thoughts.”. “MU Rector is very concerned of protecting the university students from deviant thoughts and instill Islamic and academic values to create an environment conducive for learning” added Dr. Al-Rumaih.
