This course introduces the students to the normal growth and development of the children from infancy to adolescence. Also, it covers the pathological entities of children: the major systems of the body, respiratory, cardiovascular, hematology, and gastrointestinal, gentato-urinary, central nervous system, endocrine, integumentary and musculoskeletal systems will be taught. The goal of this course is to enable the student to utilize the nursing process to develop plans of care for the pediatric patients, recognizing and addressing the psychological, developmental, and physiological implications of nursing to the pediatric patient.
