Department of Basic Medical Science

Overview:

This department is interested in teaching three specialties from the Basic Medical Sciences for the students of the Faculty of Medicine, Majmaah University, which include Anatomy and Embryology, Physiology and Pharmacology. This department was established 6 years ago since the early beginning of the faculty of Medicine. The number of the staff members at the early beginning of the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine Majmhaa University was 5.

Achievements of the department:

- Teaching of the courses in the male and female Faculty of Medicine in Anatomy and Embryology, Physiology and Pharmacology.

- Participation in teaching of the other courses in other departments in the college.

- Participation in teaching of the some courses in the Applied Medical science college.

- The staff members of the department published multiple scientific researches.

Committee of the department:

- The staff members participate in 9 committee for the modules being taught for the students in the first 3 years. These committees are as follows:

1. Committee of the Human Body Module.

2. Committee of the Basic Therapeutic Module.

3. Committee of the Movements and its Control Module.

4. Committee of the Body Fluid and Electrolyte Module.

5. Committee of the Circulation and Breathing Module.

6. Committee of the Digestive System and Metabolism Module.

7. Committee of the Endocrine and Reproduction Module.

8. Committee of the Nervous System and Special sense Module.

9. Committee of the Clinical Pharmacology Module.

- The staff members of the department participate in the curriculum committee in our college and in the preparatory year.

- The staff members of the department participate in the committee for the requirements of the labs.

- The staff members of the department supervise some of the units in the college such as the quality unit, E- Learning unit, student support unit and the academic advising unit.
