At the request of MU's rector, Prof. Saleh al-Mezal, a meeting was held on Monday by the Vice Rector for Educational Affairs, Prof. Muhammad al-Aboudi with the deans of colleges and heads of scientific departments. The colleges’ operational plans were reviewed in the meeting.
Prof. Al-Aboudi, highlighted several points aimed at enhancing the performance of heads of scientific departments including scientific research, flexibility in the scope of regulations and instructions, involving faculty members in decision-making through department councils, supporting outstanding students through academic advising, and focusing on professional certifications as part of the department’s academic performance.
He also emphasized the importance of being consistent with the new trends of local and international accreditation bodies, by focusing on employment rates, having good CVs for students and enhancing communication with employment systems.
A detailed and accurate data was reviewed, and the importance of effective work based on this data to achieve the highest levels of performance was emphasized. Reports for a number of colleges were also reviewed, highlighting the challenges and opportunities to improve the quality of education and achieving goals.
The Supervisor of the Vice-Rector's Office for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Qaffari, highlighted the importance of meeting accreditation and quality requirements, and how college leaders can have an effective role in achieving these requirements. The importance of enhancing cooperation and joint efforts was highlighted, which contributes to raising the level of quality in education.
