The dean of the College of Science in Zulfi, Dr. Hani al-Quhayz, had an online meeting with the students who participated in the Startup Weekend Online: Unite to Fight Covid-19, which was by Techstars and Google in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The goal of the event is to bring together the smartest minds alongside Saudi Arabian thought leaders to find solutions and adaptations to address the global pandemic.
The event took place July 9-11, with the participation of innovators, mentors, and investors from around the world.
Two teams have represented MU which includes: Ayman al-Barakati (PhD), a faculty at College of Computer Science and Information, Nora al-Naghmishy, a teaching assistant at College of Science in Zulfi and the following students from College of Science in Zulfi: Nora al-Manea, Hessah al-Shaalani, Nora al-Turaiqi, Areej al-Salem, Shaden al-Qanwah.
Dr. al-Quhayz commended the efforts expended by the students to be qualified to final stages and those who won, promoting them to take part in future events locally and internationally.
Thanks were also extended by Dr. al-Quhayz to innovation and alumni units for supporting students to succeed in this event.
