By the end of this course students will be able to: • Providing the student with theoretical and practical medical information and skills regarding clinical virology. • Prepare specialist in clinical virology field. • Encourage the students to prepare research and participate effectively with the stuff. • Training the student on more recent advanced techniques in clinical virology. • Motivate and support the student to participate in different scientific activities concerned with clinical virology. • Encourage the students to play role in serving the community by the experiences they learned from this course. |
Content of the Module: |
Studying the etiology, pathogenesis, mode of transmission, incubation period, clinical symptoms, diagnosis and methods of prevention and control of all of the following viral disease: -Parvovirida -Herpesviridae -Papovaviridae -Adenoviridae -Orthomyxoviridae -Paramyxoviridae -Retroviridae -Coronaviridea -Rhabdoviridae -Rubella virus -Picornaviridae -Hepatitis viruses -Hepatitis viruses -Reoviridae and other Enteric viruses |

By the end of this course students will be able to: • Recognize basic knowledge and concept of Epidemiology regards infectious process and links of infection ( Epidemiological cycle ). • Describe pattern of spread of most common infectious diseases in the community. • Explain, summarize different preventive measures ( primary ,secondary and ternary ) applied in prevention of communicable diseases. • Recognize the different approaches used in control of communicable diseases prevailing in the community. • Identify most common infectious diseases prevailing in the community and how to deal with each one ( prevention & control ). |
