DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL EDUCATION (DME)
INTRODUCTUCTION
The Department of Medical Education (DME), is an academic department, established in 2010, along with the foundation of the College of Medicine, to provide a wide range of educational services and consultations to faculty and curricular units. It serves in the areas of educational outcomes, performance based assessment of professional competence and educational technology. The faculty of this department is willing to work with any faculty interested in any kind of educational development or research, as well as anyone wishing to improve their teaching abilities.
MISSION
The mission of DME is to facilitate the implementation of the vision and mission of the College of Medicine and University of Majmaah, while aligning to the evolving paradigms of contemporary medical education practices and principles.

DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
v Faculty Development Program
DME is dedicated to provide Faculty Development Programs, workshops and seminars to the faculty members
v Orientation workshop
An essential need of our college is to conduct orientation workshops. We run this exercise at the start of every academic year for all new faculty members.
The workshop focuses our curricular philosophy (outcome based curriculum), teaching methodologies (which include several of the contemporary methods), instructional designs and assessment tools we use (Written Assessments through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Short Essay Questions (SEQs); Skills Assessment through Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCEs) and Objective Structured Practical Examinations (OSPEs); and work based assessment through MiniCEx, Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPs), 360o assessments; Portfolio, etc.).

v Execution of Multi Institutional Progress Test
The department executes the Multi Institutional Progress Test, which serves as a bench-mark for our students as an objective and formative assessment of their knowledge, while also helping them plot their progressive performance over the years.
v Conduct of Professional Development workshops for Zulfi Dental College
Apart from our activities at the College of Medicine, we also regularly conduct faculty development sessions at the Zulfi Dental College and help them improve their assessment processes.
